Wadih Cortbaoui is a co-Founder and Partner at the Firm.
He heads the Firm’s M&A and Corporate Finance division, and advises mainly on mergers and acquisitions, complex financing transactions and corporate finance transactions, corporate restructuring and securities law. More generally, he advises a broad range of companies, financial institutions and high net worth individuals on all their corporate matters. Over the years, he has been involved as a lead attorney in several landmark transactions made in Lebanon including private equity transactions and financing transactions (syndications, project finance, etc.), handling all aspects including structuring, drafting and negotiation. He has also advised several banks, financial institutions and companies on the set-up of their businesses in Lebanon and abroad, and he provides continuous legal advice and assistance to the Firm’s clients in their legal matters including but not limited to contract drafting, contract negotiation and issuance of legal opinions.
He co-authored an article about Fintech companies’ regulations in Lebanon which was published in the Chambers and Partners Practice Guides of 2017 and 2019.
He holds a Licence en Droit in Lebanese Law from Saint Joseph University in Beirut and an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University, USA.
